Four-Goal Day By Hostetter Leads JSC Past MMA 4-0
CASTINE, Maine - Johnson State sophomore Chelsea Hostetter (Morrisville, Vt./Peoples) scored all four goals in the Badgers 4-0 win over Maine Maritime Academy on Sunday in North Atlantic Conference (NAC) women's soccer.  Johnson improves to 8-2 overall, 3-1 NAC while MMA drops to 0-9, 0-4 NAC.
Hostetter received a pair of assists by junior Ally Bataille (Waterbury, Vt./Harwood) while the other two scores were unassisted.
JSC keeper Kelley Lucia (West Chazy, N.Y./Beekmantown) made two saves to earn the shutout while counterpart Taylor O'Malley (Cranston, R.I.) recorded nine saves.
Hostetter slid a shot under O'Malley 6:45 into the contest to start her afternoon of scoring. Less than five minutes later, Bataille played a ball into the box from the right for Hostetter to make it 2-0.
After Hostetter beat O'Malley on a second-half penalty kick, a Bataille blast rebounded out to Hostetter for the easy finish.
The Badgers will face Lyndon State College in their next contest Saturday, October 8 at 1:00 pm while Maine Maritime returns to action also on Saturday at 1:00 against Colby-Sawyer College.
