JOHNSON, Vt. – Visiting Castleton State College scored four second half goals to run away with a 6-0 North Atlantic Conference (NAC) women's soccer victory on Thursday at Minaert Field.  The Badgers fall to 6-7-1, 2-4-2 NAC while the Spartans move to 12-3-1 and remain undefeated in league play at 8-0.

Senior Sarah Ethier (Coxsackie, N.Y.) scored both of her goals in the second half and classmate Kelsey Garceau (St. Albans, Vt.) added a goal and an assist to help lead the Castleton charge.  Sophomore Jenna Bostwick (Pembroke, Mass.) and freshmen Mallory Costello (Vernon, N.J.) and Sami Ritter (Wantage, N.J.) each scored a goal while rookies Kim French (White River Jct., Vt.), Jenna Morrissey (Milton, Vt.) and Jessica Phillips (Drewsville, N.H.) all recorded assists.

The match stayed competitive until Garceau netted her goal with just under 23 minutes left in the match.  That goal opened the flood gates as the Spartans tacked on three more in the matches final eight minutes.

Castleton would earn a commanding 23-3 advantage in shots for match while tallying four corner kicks to Johnson's one.

Johnson will play their final regular-season game on Saturday at 3:00 pm when the Badgers face the University of Maine-Farmington.  Castleton will move on to host Colby-Sawyer College at 4:00 pm on Tuesday, October 23.
