Johnson Tops Terriers 1-0 in Conference Match-Up
Johnson State women's soccer pulled out a close 1-0 North Atlantic Conference (NAC) win against Thomas College on Saturday.  Johnson State stands 6-7, 3-4 in the NAC while the Terriers fall to 3-10, 1-5 NAC.
Johnson struck early scoring just two minutes into the contest.  Kyleigh Joseph got a pass from Chelsea Hostetter just inside the box, striking the ball over the head of Thomas keeper Kate Thibodeau in the left corner for what would eventually be the game-winner.

The home side would have their chances to even the score in the first, striking for seven shots to their opponents three. Their greatest opportunity was when Kajsa Kaufeldt took a shot from outside the box, nearly making it over Johnson Keeper Amber McCullock's head, who punched the ball over the crossbar to hold the 1-0 advantage.

Neither side would put a tally on the board in the closing stanza, as the back and forth play was mainly near the mid-line. Thomas would outshoot the Badgers 6-5 in the second half but could not account for a goal.

Overall, Thomas held a 13-8 shot advantage, and a 4-2 edge in corner kicks.

Thibodeau had two saves, while her counterpart McCullock made five to seal the win.

The Terriers will return to the pitch next Saturday, Oct. 19 as they take on conference rival Husson at 1pm during Homecoming and Alumni Weekend.
