Tuttle Hat Trick Leads Beavers Over Badgers 3-0

The Me.-Farmington women's soccer team used a late second half surge coupled with a hat trick by Kayla Tuttle to down host Johnson State College, 3-0, in a North Atlantic Conference (NAC) match Saturday afternoon. The win improves the Beavers to 7-6-2, 6-1 NAC while the Badgers fall to 6-8 overall and 3-5 on the season.

The Badgers and the Beavers were deadlocked for the entire first half despite Me.-Farmington out shooting the Badgers 9-0.

In the 60th minute of play Tuttle fired a laser into the back of the net off a through ball from Alexandra Crocker at the 18 yard line to bring the tally to 1-0. Twenty minutes later, Tuttle collected a rebound to tally an unassisted goal on for her second of the day. She struck again in the 88th minute with help from Bridget Humphrey, passing Badger keeper Amber McCullock in the lower left corner to give the Beavers their 3-0 final tally.

The Beavers dictated the pace of play throughout the day dominating in shots (36-2) and corner kicks (8-1). Beth Lebel made one stop for Me.-Farmington and picked up the win for the Beavers before Amy Jones subbed in to close out the second stanza. McCullock made an impressive 17 saves on the day for the Badgers and despite her heroic efforts, was saddled with the loss.

Johnson returns to action Saturday when it hosts Lyndon for a 12:00p tilt in the final conference matchup of the regular season. Me.-Farmington will face Green Mountain next Saturday at 12:00p.
