Badgers Silence Panthers 1-0

Johnson State College women's soccer battled to an exciting 1-0 win against non-conference visitor Plymouth State University on Sunday afternoon.  Johnson ends its regular season at 7-9 overall, 3-6 North Atlantic Conference (NAC) while Plymouth dips to 5-12 overall and 1-5 in Little East Conference play.

Freshman Maddison Prescott scored the lone Badger goal after collecting a loose ball near the 25 yard line and scoring off of a break away.

Prescott scored what would be the game winner for the Badgers at the 9:40 mark leaving nearly two whole halves for Johnson to defend its lead.

The Badgers kept the Panthers at bay for the despite being outshot by Plymouth State (14-2) in the second half alone. The Panthers found themselves on the precipice multiple times but Johnson keeper Shannon Grier made numerous game saving blocks to protect Johnson's win.

Grier turned away 11 saves and picked up the shutout win while Plymouth keeper Annaliese Schmidt blocked 3 shots and was saddled with the loss.
