The Husson women's soccer team scored four times in the first half to lock in a 5-0 road victory over Johnson State on Sunday afternoon on Mineart Field. The Badgers slide to 7-3 overall and 2-1 in North Atlantic Conference (NAC) play while Husson advances to 4-4 on the year and 2-1 in the NAC.

Freshman Leah Hibbard led the Eagles offensively notching two goals and two assists. Husson also used goals from Rachel Moroney, Lexi Crawford and Catie Curtis.

Moroney broke open the first stanza finding the back of the net off of a cross from Hibbard to give the Eagles a 1-0 advantage in the 9th minute of play. Husson maintained control of the next 36 minutes netting goals at the 16th, 32nd and 42nd minutes.

Johnson State picked up play in the second half but ultimately were unable to pass Husson goalkeeper Jess Poulin. In the 51st minute, Hibbard sealed the deal on the win for Husson after scoring on a direct kick opportunity. The Eagles outshot the Badgers 22-8.

Poulin made three saves in her shutout victory over the Badgers while senior goaltender Amber McCullock recorded nine saves for Johnson State.

The Badgers return to action next weekend with a home conference match against Castleton at 3:30pm.
