New England College women's soccer tied the visiting Johnson State College Badgers 0-0 in North Atlantic Conference (NAC) action Saturday afternoon.
With the tie the Pilgrims are now 9-5-2 overall and 2-2-2 in the NAC, while the Badgers are now 7-7-1 on the season and 2-4-1 in conference play.
Neither team would muster a goal in the opening half of play as the best scoring opportunity would come in the 22nd minute as it looked like the Pilgrims would get on the scoreboard netting a goal that would be called back due to offsides.
The two teams would continue to battle scoreless through the entire second half as the Pilgrims held the 6-2 advantage in shots.
NEC would have the lone shot on net in the final seconds of the first over time as Alexandra Hytner would fire a shot saved by Johnson's keeper Amber McCullock. The two teams would continue their scoreless battle through the second overtime eventually battling to the 0-0 draw.
NEC finished the game out shooting Johnson 13-4 and held the 9-0 advantage in corner kicks.
NEC's Tricia Sardagnola finished with three saves, while Johnson's McCullock notched six saves on the afternoon.
NEC returns to action on Sunday, Oct. 19 when they celebrate senior day hosting conference opponent Lyndon State College. Johnson returns to action on Sunday, Oct. 19 as well as they travel to take on conference foe Colby-Sawyer College.
