A pair of goals scored in a three-minute span during the first half allowed Johnson State College to down the Southern Vermont College women's soccer team 2-0 Saturday afternoon in the second day of the Norwich University Kickoff Classic.

The Badgers (1-1) owned an 8-5 edge in shots on goal over SVC (1-2) while the Mountaineers took five corner kicks to JSC's two.

Kylie Aither tallied a goal and an assist while freshman Alannah Farley netted her first collegiate goal to edge Southern Vermont. Alexa Jakiela and Aither dished out an assist a piece. 

Aither netted the first goal in the 37th minute of the match, and added the second just over two and a half minutes later to go up 2-0 heading into the break. Southern Vermont got three shots off in the closing 45 minutes but couldn't chip away at the deficit as Johnson St. took home the victory.

Johnson faces tournament host Norwich tomorrow at 1:00pm at Sabine field.
