Johnson Falls to Potsdam

The Johnson State (1-4) women's soccer team fell 2-1 to the visiting SUNY Potsdam women's soccer team (3-1) on Wednesday afternoon.
 
The Bears held the edge in play during the first half with a 10-5 advantage in shots. All the scoring was done in a 6:35 span. McClusky got the Bears on the board at the 13:16 mark with a helper from freshman midfielder Riley Murray.

Badger Mikaela Rutter answered at 18:01 to tie the score. The draw lasted just 1:50 before Livecchi struck with the eventual game winner. Senior captain Chloe Hay recorded the assist. Potsdam junior goalkeeper Michaela Cole made three saves in the first half to keep the Bears in front.
 
Potsdam dominated the final period, outshooting Johnson State 11-2. The Bears put five attempts on goal, but Badger goalie Nichole Weeks stopped them all to keep her team in the game. Johnson State only managed one shot on goal, but Cole handled it to preserve the win.
 
Cole's four saves earned her career win No. 5 and evened her all-time mark at 5-5-1. Weeks finished with eight saves.
 
Potsdam compiled a 21-7 advantage in shots and a 7-2 lead in corners.
 
The Bears are back in action on Saturday, when they travel to Annandale-on-Hudson to battle the Bard College Raptors.
