JOHNSON, Vt. - The Johnson State College women's soccer fell to Colby-Sawyer College 3-2 in a North Atlantic Conference (NAC) contest on Sunday afternoon at Minaert Field.
SCORING
1st Half: Colby-Sawyer (9-2, 6-0 NAC) took the lead early in the third minute when an Emily Martin from distance got through Johnson (4-8, 0-6 NAC) keeper Kaila Lemmer (Barnard, Vt.) and slithered into the goal for the 1-0 lead. The Chargers struck again six minutes later when Natalie Shear sent a through ball to Nell McQueeny who fired a shot to the top-left corner and into the back of the net for the 2-0 advantage.
The Badgers answered back with two goals by Kylie Aither (Hyde Park, Vt.) in less than two minutes. In the 13th minute, Aither received the all at midfield and raced towards net, pulling up near the 18-yard line and releasing a shot from the right side that deflected off a Colby-Sawyer defender and into the net to pull the game to 2-1. A minute and a half later, Aither once again received the ball and midfield and played a lob pass over the defender to herself to create separation. Aither pulled up inside the box and sent a shot from the left side to the far corner to beat Charger keeper Marissa Williams and tie the game at two.
2nd Half: Colby-Sawyer registered the game-winner in the 63rd minute when Molly Maclure received a touch pass from Hannah Fields a few yards outside of the penalty arc and drilled a shot through the top-left corner for the 3-2 lead.

Lemmer (3-8) stopped 16 of 19 shots and was tagged with the loss. Williams was pulled in the 22nd minute after allowing two goals on three shots and replaced by Sam Mitchell (5-1)who earned the win, making a save on her only shot faced.
