LYNDONVILLE, Vt. - The Johnson State College women's soccer defeated Lyndon State College 6-2 in a North Atlantic Conference (NAC) contest on Saturday afternoon. The Badgers finish their season with a 5-10 overall record and a 1-8 mark in NAC play.
SCORING
1st Half: Kylie Aither (Hyde Park, Vt.) put the Badgers on the board when she scored on a penalty kick in the 7th minute. In the 39th minute, Aither fed Kelsey Cauchon (Colchester, Vt.), to make it 2-0, in favor of the Badgers. Three and a half minutes later, Aither's second goal sent Johnson into halftime with a 3-0 advantage.
2nd Half: Brooke Breault narrowed the deficit to 3-1 with an unassisted goal in the 66th minute. Aither completed her hat trick in the 75th minute, scoring on an assist from Cauchon to once again make it a three-goal game. Lyndon's Kia DeWitt found the net a minute later to make it 4-2, but Johnson tacked on a pair of late goals from Katherine Fish (Lake Elmore, Vt.) and Andrea Mercer (Naugatuck, Conn.) to make the final score 6-2.
