Arwen Clayton Commits to Women's Soccer for 2021 Campaign

JOHNSON, Vt.-The Northern Vermont University-Johnson women's soccer program and Head Coach Andrew Lafrenz have tabbed an in-state commitment for the 2021 fall season.

Arwen Clayton a native of Chelsea, Vermont and a student-athlete at Thetford Academy has signed the necessary paperwork and will arrive on campus in the fall of 2021. 

When arrived at NVU-Johnson, Clayton plans to pursue a degree in business management. "I chose NVU-Johnson because I have known Coach Lafrenz for a while now and I think his coaching style and this group would be a perfect fit for me," said Clayton. "I believe working with this team will help me transition back after my knee injury and I look forward to getting started."

Clayton has been a member of the Thetford Academy State Championship team that won the Vermont Girls Soccer Division III State Championship in 2017, 2018 and 2019. She was named First Team All-State, Second Team All-State and was an Honorable Mention selection throughout her high school career. 

"I am very excited to join the Badger family and get started with the women's soccer team. I have heard nothing but good things about the athletics department and I am excited to be part of it."

Head Coach Andrew Lafrenz plans to announce additional commitments for the 2021 season in the near future.
