Women's Soccer Open Up 2020-21 Season Against Norwich University

NORTHFIELD, Vt.-The Northern Vermont University-Johnson women's soccer team traveled to Norwich University to open up the 2020-2021 season this spring. The Badgers dropped the opening match by a score of 1-0.

It was the Cadets who played spoiler as Sydney Rocheville scored an unassisted goal at the 38:50 mark. 

The Cadets outshot NVU-Johnson 31-15 with 15 of those shots being on goal. Denyce Ruiz and Jordan Pelland ran the Badger attack as Ruiz had a team high six shots with three on target, while Pelland and Madelyn House each contributed two shots on goal. 

Grace Verner started her first career game in goal for the Badgers recording 14 saves. For the Cadets, it was Kayla Dawson and Kim Watt who split time in goal with Dawson earning the win. 

With the loss the Badgers drop to 0-1 on the season and will travel to Cazenovia on Saturday, April 10.
