The Northern Vermont University-Johnson Badger's Athletic Department announces John Peterson as the next Head Coach for the Badgers Women's Soccer team.
As Coach Peterson steps into the role as the Women's Head Coach he lets us know that he is "incredibly excited to get the opportunity to coach the UNV-Johnson Women's Soccer team. I look forward to building relationships with each of the players and trying to help them improve individually and become the best team they can be. It is a real honor to come to Johnson every day and work with this talented, united group of players".
Coach Peterson states, "I love everything about coaching. I'm excited to get out of bed in the morning knowing I'm going to the field that day. I love building practice plans, working with players to build their skills and confidence and trying to put them in the best positions to succeed and help the team."
As Coach Peterson starts his collegiate coaching career at NVU-Johnson Interim Director of Athletic Greg Eckman notes "Coach Peterson has a passion for soccer, has had a successful career on and off the pitch and has been working hard within the Vermont soccer club community over the past 10 years to further develop has craft." Coach Peterson let us know, "Coach Lafrenz (Current Men's Coach, former Women's coach) has been incredibly supportive during my transition, as has Athletic Director Greg Eckman and the (athletic) training staff of Jim Nichols and Noah Rouleau. I'm looking forward to working with this team and administration to continue building this program by recruiting more quality players and people - there is an incredible foundation already in place and I feel like we have a great opportunity for long term success with the Women's program at NVU Johnson"
