Women’s Soccer Battles to Draw against Norwich in Season Opener

BANNER

The Women's Soccer team opened their season with a nil-nil draw against Norwich University, highlighted by senior goalkeeper, Isabel Atkisson's, clean sheet.

SUMMARY

The Johnson Badgers found strength in their backline, marked by Atkisson's prowess between the posts, as they battled a strong Norwich offense to a blank draw. The opening half of play saw Norwich notch seven shots, four of which on goal, each stopped by Atkisson.

The Badgers returned to the pitch with a confidence that resulted in matching Norwich's second half shots on goal, as senior, Peyton Fairchild, and first-year, Moriah Stefanik, challenged Norwich's defense with two low-left shots of their own. The clock would strike zero with strong defenses claiming victory, ending in a 0-0 draw.
