TROY, N.Y. - Johnson women's tennis saw host Sage take a 6-3 conference match on Saturday to make to Badgers 0-2, 0-0 North Atlantic Conference (NAC) and the Gators start their season at 1-0, 0-0 Skyline.
The Badgers picked up wins at fourth singles where Alyssa Greene (Rumford, Maine/Mountain Valley) topped Mary Kate Hayward (Queensbury, N.Y.) 6-4, 6-0 and at sixth singles with Chelsea Vallone-Curtis (St. Albans, Vt./BFA-St. Albans) beating Lauren Bedell (Rome, N.Y.) 6-4, 6-1.
JSC senior Catlyn Hughes (Canterbury, Conn./Griswold) teamed with classmate Ace Morrison-Taylor (Colden, N.Y./East Aurora) for a win at third doubles 8-5 over Hayward and Bedell for Sage.
Johnson will play at Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts in their NAC opener next on Saturday, September 8 at 1:00 pm.
