
Willey and Aldrich defeated the Johnson State tandem of sophomores Deanna Brandstetter and Annette Kaminski at first doubles as the Huskies grabbed a 3-0 lead following the doubles points.
In singles action, senior Mary Moran took a solid 6-1, 6-1 win over Brandstetter at first singles as USM rolled through all six of the singles points en route to the 9-0 win.
Southern Maine hosts Thomas College on Thursday (3:30 p.m.) in its next contest. Johnson State travels to Lyndon State on Wednesday (3:30 p.m.).
