The Johnson State College women's tennis team defeated Thomas College 6-3 in a North Atlantic Conference match against on Sunday morning at the Harold Alfond Athletic Center. With the win, the Badgers improve their record to 2-5 overall and 1-2 in NAC play. 

In doubles play, the number two pair of Nicole Monick and Jana Somero and the number three pair of Kali Covell and Ashley Fogg each beat their host counterparts 8-5.  

Kat VonWoerkom defeated her opponent soundly 6-1, 6-3 while the three and four spots were much more hard fought. Kali Covell edged Amelia Guimond 7-6, 7-6 after coming back from a 0-5 deficit in the second set. Teammate Jana Somero hung on through three sets winning in the end, 6-3, 4-6, 7-5 marking her second singles win on the weekend. Jordan Miller posted a 6-1, 6-2 win at the number six singles spot to seal the win for the Badgers. 

The Badgers will return to the court on Tuesday, September 22 when they host Lyndon St. for a NAC match starting at 3:30pm.
