WTEN: Johnson Ends Season With Loss to Plymouth

PLYMOUTH, N.H. – The Johnson State College women's tennis team fell to Plymouth State University 9-0 in their season finale on Wednesday afternoon.

Doubles

Plymouth (8-3, 4-2 LEC) took all three doubles matches from the Badgers (5-8, 3-4 NAC). The team of Sam Kershner (Essex, Vt.) and Nicole Monick (Bennington, Vt.) fell in first doubles 8-2, while Mikayla Messier (Sheldon, Vt.) and Kali Covell (Hartford, Vt.)  fell in second doubles 8-0. Ashley Fogg (White River Junction, Vt.) and Sarah Lind (Winooski, Vt.) rounded out doubles with an 8-1 loss in the third flight.

Singles

The Panthers took all six singles matches over Johnson. Monick dropped first singles 6-0, 6-0, while Covell fell 6-0, 6-0 in second singles. Messier went down 6-2, 6-1 in third singles.

Fogg dropped a pair of 6-0 sets in fourth singles. Kershner lost straight 6-1 sets in fifth singles, while Lind went down 6-0, 6-0 in sixth singles.
