Badgers Lose Non-Conference Match to Plattsburgh

PLATTSBURGH, NY- The Northern Vermont University-Johnson women's tennis team fell to SUNY Plattsburgh 9-0 on Thursday night. 

 DOUBLES

 In the first doubles match Mikayla Messier (Sheldon,Vt.) and Elizabeth Chitambar (Newport, Vt.) lost by a score of 8-3. Plattsburgh controlled doubles on the day. Rebecca Simon (New Praque, MN) and Leah Gaboury (Saint Albans, Vt.) fought hard but lost their doubles match to Plattsburgh's Sarah Sampson and Sarah Hoeffner by a score of 8-4. The last doubles match of the day was Kayla Hammond (Springfield,Vt.) and Kristen Torrito (Waterville, Vt.). They lost by a score of 8-0.

 SINGLES

Plattsburgh continued to out play the Badgers. Messier lost her singles match by a score of 6-3, 6-1. Chitambar lost by a score of 8-0. Plattsburgh had the hot hand throughout singles play and won every singles match on the day. 

 UP NEXT

The Badgers will host two conference matches against Thomas College on Saturday, September 29 and Husson University on Sunday, September 30 for senior day.
