Badgers Shine in Doubleheader at Lyndon

LYNDON, VT – The Women's Tennis team picked up its first two wins of the season Wednesday evening, raising its season record to 2-2 after a doubleheader at VTSU Lyndon. The first match of the day was taken in swift 9-0 fashion, kicked off by a hard-fought doubles victory from Kaitlin Stone with Kali Wooster (6-8) followed by a sweep in the remaining matches. Stone continued her dominance in the singles matchups, taking the win against Lyndon's number one in a perfect eight games to none. Wooster notched the first singles victory of her collegiate career in a precise 1-8 victory in the number two spot for Johnson.

The Badgers and Hornets returned to the court for their second match of the day, with Kamryn Devero and Nikki Sweet nearly edging Lyndon (8-6) in their opening match. The duo's intense drive set the tone for the remaining singles matches, highlighted by Wooster, Stone, and Rukiya Awayle claiming victory without sacrificing a single game. A clean sweep in the singles matchups saw Johnson win 7-2.

The Badgers return to the court 5pm on Thursday, traveling to Plattsburgh, NY.
