Badgers Compete at Windmill Club Sprint Triathlon

ARMONK, NEW YORK — The Northern Vermont University-University-Johnson women's triathlon team shined at the Windmill Club Sprint Triathlon on Saturday, August 31st in their first race of the season. The Badgers had multiple top-two finishes across the board in the event for their respective age divisions. 

RESULTS

Junior Ellery Kiefer (Wayland, Mass.) led the way for the Badgers as she placed first in the Women's 20-24 age division and second overall for female competitors, completing the course in 1:26:44. Kiefer posted team-best times in swimming and cycling, clocking in at 9:13 and 46:50 respectively. 

Freshman Jacqueline McCullough (Platteview, NE) had a strong showing in her inaugural meet for the Badgers as she finished in second for the Women's 1-19 age division. McCullough posted a team-best time of 28:36 for the running portion of the event. 

Raz Perl lead for NCAA Division II American International College by completing the race in 1:30:07. Perl got off to a strong start for the Yellow Jackets, and was amongst the first batch of competitors to get out of the water, with a time of 10:26 for the 0.35 mile swim. Perl led the Yellow Jackets the rest of the way, ultimately becoming the first AIC triathlete to complete a race for the team with a time of 1:30.07. Angelina Knowlton was AIC's second finisher in 1:47:42.

NEXT UP

The Badgers will travel to Belle Fourche Reservoir, South Dakota to compete at the Women's Collegiate Triathlon West Regional Qualifier on Sunday, September 15th. The event is slated to begin at 7:30am local time.
