Women's Triathlon Compete in Women's Virtual NCAA Challenge

JOHNSON, Vt.-The Northern Vermont University-Johnson women's triathlon team competed in the NCAA Virtual D3 Challenge this past weekend.The challenge lasted from October 22-25, but the participants could join at any time over the course of the four days. 

The Badgers split up the sections of the race competing in the 10k bike timed trial on Friday and the run portion on Sunday. Because the Badgers did not compete in the swim portion of the race they were unable to register a team score. During the bike portion of the race Ellery Kiefer was the Badgers top performer finishing in fourth place overall with a time of 16:21. Laura Dattilio was next for the Badgers finishing in sixth place with a team of 17:57. Molly Johnson and Emily Crippen closed out the Badger finishers with times of 18:46 and 21:06.

On Sunday, the NVU-Johnson women's triathlon team ran a 2.5k (1.55miles). Kiefer was the top performer for the Badgers finishing in the top ten with a time of 11:22. Johnson trailed Kiefer finishing 11thoverall with a time of 11:28. Dattilio and Crippen rounded out the group finishing tied at 17thplace. 

Head Coach Kim Loefler was excited to have the group compete for the second time this season. "They really enjoyed this challenge. It was very nice to see them push hard, analyze the results and get excited to race again!"
