BROOKLINE, Mass. - In their opening-game of the Newbury College Tournament, Johnson State College found themselves up on Bard College 2-0 but could not hold the lead and fell 3-2 (17-25, 22-25, 25-19, 25-10, 15-13).  Johnson falls to 0-2 overall, 0-0 North Atlantic Conference while Bard improves to 2-1 overall.

Johnson saw Alex Benlock (West Haven, Conn./Lyman Hall) record team-bests of nine kills and 15 digs while Kylie VanEtten (Montrose, Penn./Elk Lake) dished out 19 assists while picking up 10 digs.

Johnson will face Lasell College in their second match of the tournament later Friday evening.
