Match One:  Lyndon State 3, Johnson State 1 (25-19, 23-25, 25-20, 25-15)

Visiting Lyndon State College picked up a 3-1 win over host Johnson State College on Sunday in a scheduled non-conference match in women's volleyball play.  The Hornets improve to 4-9 overall, 2-2 North Atlantic Conference (NAC) while Johnson slides to 3-11, 1-3 NAC.

Junior Maegan Fried (Great Falls, Mon.) racked up 15 kills and 15 digs while freshman Taylor Young (Lowell, Mass.) recorded 22 assists and 17 digs to pace Lyndon State.

Johnson was led by junior Kylie VanEtten (Montrose, Penn./Elk Lake) and her 14-assist, 16-dig effort.  Senior Jessica Pafumi (Monson, Mass./Monson) had a team-best six kills to go along with 13 digs.

Match Two:  Maine-Machias 3, Lyndon State 0 (25-22, 25-13, 26-24)

The University of Maine-Machias used a balanced team attack to get by Lyndon State College 3-0 on Sunday in non-conference women's volleyball action.  The Clippers improve to 11-6, 7-2 USCAA while Lyndon falls to 4-10, 2-2 NAC.

Five different Clippers recorded at least five kills in the win including Krystyn Ransom (Enosburg Falls, Vt.) who also added team-high's of 11 assists and 13 digs.  Heather Leonard (Bowagiac, Mich.) had five block solo's on the afternoon.

Lyndon's Taylor Young (Lowell, Mass.) had a strong outing with nine assists and 17 digs.

Match Three:  Maine-Machias 3, Johnson State 0 (25-20, 25-8, 25-14)

The visiting Clippers of U. Maine-Machias fought off a game Badger squad in game one and then rolled to a 3-0 non-conference volleyball win on Sunday.  UMM step up to 12-6, 7-2 USCAA while Johnson slips to 3-12, 1-3 NAC.

Jamyriah McPherson (Bradenton, Fla.) led the way for Machias with six kills and seven digs while Meghan Engl (Clarence Center, N.Y.) came through with 12 assists and 13 digs.

Johnson saw Jessica Pafumi (Monson, Mass./Monson) contribute six kills and six digs while Kylie VanEtten (Montrose, Penn./Montrose) had yet another double-double with 11 assists and 12 digs.
