Hornets Hold Off Johnson, Badgers Fall 3-0

LYNDONVILLE, Vt. - Johnson State College suffered a 3-0 (25-14, 25-19, 25-21) defeat at Lyndon State College in North Atlantic Conference (NAC) women's volleyball action Monday night at Stannard Gymnasium.  The Badgers slide to 3-13, 1-4 NAC while Lyndon improves to 6-12, 3-2 NAC.

Lyndon's Maegan Fried and Kayla Cormier combined for 19 kills on the night while Taylor Young recorded 12 assists to lead the offensive charge.

Johnson saw senior Jessica Pafumi (Monson, Mass./Monson) pick up a pair of kills to go along with eight digs.  Junior Kylie VanEtten (Montrose, Penn./Elk Lake) had nine digs to go with a pair of service aces.

Johnson will at least one win this weekend in matches against Husson University or Maine Maritime Academy to qualify for the NAC playoffs.  The Badgers will play their final home match on Sunday against non-conference foe Paul Smith's College at 1:00 pm.
