JSC Defeated By Husson, MMA; Eliminated From NAC Playoffs

LYNDONVILLE, Vt. - Johnson State women's volleyball was eliminated from North Atlantic Conference (NAC) playoff contention on Saturday after falling in a pair of matches, each by the score of 3-0.  The Badgers fell to both Husson and Maine Maritime on the day to slide to 3-15, 1-6 NAC.

MATCH ONE - MMA 3, Johnson 0 (25-11, 25-11, 25-4)

In the Badgers first match the defending NAC champs Maine Maritime Academy Mariners piled up 41 kills led by Melissa Lail her 13.  Jennifer Dixon dealt out 28 assists in the match to fuel the Mariner attack.

Johnson's Molly Grover (Cumberland, Maine/Cheverus) recorded three kills and eight digs while Jessica Pafumi (Monson, Mass./Monson) had two kills and eight digs.

MATCH TWO - Husson 3, Johnson 0 (25-9, 25-4, 25-11)

The Husson University Eagles received 20 kills from Hannah Olstad and 23 assists from Aleta Johnson to cruise to a 3-0 NAC win in the 2:00 pm contest of the quad-match.  Husson drilled 17 service aces as a team.

Though the Badgers played well defensively with Grover digging nine balls and Pafumi, Kylie VanEtten (Montrose, Penn./Montrose), and Beth Lilligreen (North Kingstown, R.I./North Kingstown) each recorded eight digs.

Johnson will wrap up their season on Sunday with a 1:00 pm match against Paul Smith's College.
