Spartans Cruise to Victory over Badgers
Castleton State College hit .297 as a team, making only eight errors en route to a 3-0 victory over Johnson State College in women's North Atlantic Conference (NAC) volleyball action on Saturday afternoon at the Eagle Dome.
Castleton (6-7, 1-0 NAC) was led by Brittany Brayman who led the Spartans in kills with eight.  Close behind her was Breannon Meuse who hit at a .667 clip to give her seven kills in the victory.  Defensively, Castleton was led by libero Kristi Lawless who notched a match-high 10 digs.  Alex Madsen and Shelby Smyth split the setting duties, accumulating 10 and nine assists, respectively.
Johnson's (0-12, 0-0 NAC) Andrea Williams led her team with three kills, while Natasha Cordner and Domonique Carter Stanley each put down two attacks. Carter Stanley also provided a solid defensive effort digging up seven attacks
Castleton will play right again in the third match of the day at 4 pm, while Johnson will face Green Mountain in the fourth and final match of the day at 6 pm.
