Hornets Sting Badgers 3-1

The Lyndon State women's volleyball team downed Johnson State College 3-1 at Carter Gymnasium on Sunday afternoon. The Hornets were sharp after losing the opening set 25-7 buzzing back beating the Badgers in three straight sets by the scores of 25-22, 25-16, and 31-29. With the loss Johnson slips to 0-16, 0-2 North Atlantic Conference (NAC) on the season while Lyndon advances to 7-7, 1-1 (NAC).

Lyndon squeaked past the home squad prior to a deciding fifth set. Kelleigh Murtagh led a balanced attack for the Hornets with an eight kill, two dig, and a three service ace effort.

For Johnson, Andrea Williams posted five kills and five service aces in the defeat.

Johnson and Lyndon will return to action on Wednesday, October 16th when the Badgers travel to Lyndon State College for a conference tilt beginning at 7:00 PM.
