Badgers Win Third Straight Match

The Badgers showcased an efficient attack as they defeated conference rival Lyndon State in a non-conference match at Stannard Gymnasium on Wednesday evening.

Johnson picked up the first set 25-16 before the Hornets pushed back with a 25-12 win in the second set behind eight service aces and seven kills.  A close third set favored the Badgers 25-19.  The Badgers looked to be in control of the fourth set until senior Laura Drake rattled off a number of aces to tie the set at 16-16.  The Badgers would eventually pull away for a 25-20 victory in the fourth and final set.

Johnson was led by Breanna Laughlin who recorded ten kills, six aces, and 12 digs.  Andrea Williams and Anna Bingham brought a solid defensive effort for the Badgers with Williams recording 20 digs and five blocks while Bingham added 11 digs.

The Hornets were plagued by errors all night finishing with 36 kill errors and 13 service errors.  Drake led Lyndon with five kills, eight aces, five assists, and six digs.  Junior Gwyneth Stahl  added four kills, 11 assists, three aces, and nine digs while Kelleigh Murtagh  pitched in six kills and 23 digs.

The Badgers travel to Newbury this weekend for a tri-match.
