Badgers Drop Two in Conference Tri-Match

Johnson State volleyball dropped two conference matches Saturday to Colby-Sawyer and Lyndon St. With the losses, the Badgers slide to 4-9 on the year and 0-2 in the North Atlantic Conference.

Colby-Sawyer 3, Johnson State 0 – 25-8, 25-8, 25-11

Freshman Courtney Murray led the Chargers with a match best nine kills while hitting an impressive .571. She added a solo block and a block assist. Sophomore Alli Lahiff had eight kills, while freshman Gabrielle Ratte  added six kills and seven digs.

Colby-Sawyer senior Kelsey McCulley ended the match with seven kills and seven aces.

The Badgers were led by junior Breanna Laughlin . She had five kills, eight digs and a block. Junior Anna Bingham collected a team best 10 digs.

Lyndon 3, Johnson State 2 – 15-25, 25-19, 19-25, 25-22, 15-7

The Hornets trailed 2-1 after three sets, but came from behind to win the final two sets and earn their first NAC win of the season.

Lyndon received a double-double from junior Kelleigh Murtaugh  with 11 kills and 12 digs. Senior Laura Drake  filled the stat sheet with 20 assists, eight kills and eight digs. Junior Abbey Greene collected a match best 23 digs, while junior Gwyneth Stahl  had 20 digs and four blocks.

Johnson State junior Breanna Laughlin led all players with 21 kills and added 19 digs and six aces. Freshman Emily Peterson  had a double-double of 14 assists and 19 digs, while junior Anna Bingham had 13 digs and 12 assists. 

The Badgers will return to action Wednesday, October 14th when they host Green Mountain College for a 7:00pm match.
