
NORTHAMPTON, Mass. – The Johnson State College volleyball team fell to Dean and Gallaudet in a tri-match at Smith College on Saturday.
MATCH 1 vs. Dean
The Bulldogs jumped out to an early 10-1 lead and cruised to the 25-8 victory in the first set. The Badgers hung in early in the second set, but with a 16-9 lead, Dean went on a 9-3 run to take the 25-12 win. The Bulldogs put Johnson away in the third, taking the set 25-5.
STATS LEADERS
Kaitlin Boucher (Barre, Vt.), Kayla Atkinson (North Wolcott, Vt.) and Elyssa Kornbrath (Manchester Conn.) each had two kills for the Badgers. Kornbrath added four assists while Jenna Murawski (East Burke, Vt.) had seven digs.
MATCH 2 vs. Gallaudet
Gallaudet took the first two sets 25-5, then finished off the Badgers with a 25-9 third set victory.
STATS LEADERS
Kimberly Reville (Burke, N.Y.) had a kill and four digs to lead Johnson.
