Women's Volleyball Adds Immediate Impact for 2021 Season

JOHNSON, Vt.- The Northern Vermont University-Johnson women's volleyball program announced an additional commitment for the 2021 season early Monday afternoon. 

Head Coach Keven John announced the addition of Brittany Connatser a native of Fairfax, Virginia and a transfer student from Northern Virginia Community College. During her time at NOVA, Connatser was a team captain while winning her conference championship. She is currently an honor roll student and plans to arrive at NVU-Johnson in the fall of 2021.

Prior to her time at NOVA, Connatser was a student-athlete at James W. Robinson Secondary School. She was a four-year member of the varsity volleyball program and was named team captain her junior and senior year. Connatser also sits high in the record books as she is second overall in career kills with 622. Former Badgers Nikola Knapova ranks fifth all-time at NOVA and Lauren Havill ranks seventh all-time. Connatser ranks second overall in career attack percentage (.309), ranked first overall in single season kills where she earned 382 in 2018, first overall in single season kills per set (3.82) and first overall in point per set (3.94).

On the club circuit, Connatser was a member of the Virginia Elite Volleyball Club and was awarded the initiative award in her first season on the club.

"I chose NVU-Johnson because I was looking to get out of my comfort zone. I know that NVU-Johnson has so many opportunities and it will prepare me for life after college and the working world. I've always have been career oriented and I believe my time at NVU will help get me there. The opportunities at NVU seem endless," said Connatser. 

When arrived at NVU-Johnson Connatser plans to pursue a degree in business administration with a concentration in sport management. "I honestly can't wait to join the Badger family. I'm excited about the opportunity to continue my volleyball career at a high level and be part of something much bigger than myself. I am a team player and cannot wait for NVU."

Connatser is also very excited for the opportunity to play under back to back North Atlantic Conference Coach of the Year Keven John. "I am excited to play for Coach John because his thought process of the game of volleyball. I have always been taught that the sport of volleyball is placed at a fast pace and it is competitive not just against your opponent but also within the structure of your own team. Coach John resembles those qualities and he has been very honest with me throughout the entire recruiting process."

 

With the addition of Brittany Connaster the women's volleyball program now has three incoming recruits for the class of 2021. Head Coach Keven John plans to announce additional commitments in the near future.
