Terriers Drive Past Badgers 93-72

WATERVILLE, Maine – Johnson State College fell to host Thomas College, 93-72, Friday night. Johnson State now stands 8-13 overall, and 6-8 in the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) while Thomas advances to 12-9 on the season and 8-7 in NAC play.

Asim Khan (Torrance, Calif./Torrance) led the Badger's effort with 18 points and three assists. Junior Brian Hickey (Barre, Vt./ Spaulding) earned his 10th double-double notching 12 points and 11 boards during the contest while guard Ron Adrian (Schenectady, N.Y./ Notre Dame Bishop Gibbons) chipped in 10 points.

Johnson State and Thomas swapped leads eight times in the first half with the Badgers leading by as many as seven by the 15:19 mark after a three-pointer by Johnson's Khan. Thomas would grab the lead for good with nine minutes remaining in the half finishing with an 11-point advantage.

Thomas held their lead throughout the second half. Overall, Jarrad DeVaughn (Brockton, Mass.) finished with a game-high 23 points while teammates Levi Barnes (Skowhegan, Maine) and Stanley Green Jr. (Dorchester, Mass.) both contributed 11 points each and ended the game 19-points ahead of the Badgers.

The Badgers shot 42.6% (26-61) from the court, while going 9-25 (36%) from the three-point line while Thomas shot 37-72 (51.4%) from the field, and 44% (11-25) from the perimeter.

The Badgers will face the University of Maine at Farmington for another NAC match up on Saturday for a 3:00 tip-off while Thomas will return to the hardwood Saturday for their last home contest of the season, hosting Lyndon State at 3pm.
