Hunter Men's Basketball Beats Johnson State 71-55

The Hunter men's basketball team defeated Johnson State College 71-55 in the Consolation game at the 2014 Amherst College Tournament. The Hawks improve to 3-2 on the season as they are set to begin conference play next week. The Badgers slide to 0-5 overall before conference play begins December 5th. 

The Hawks jumped out to an early lead over Johnson State in the first half opening an eight-point lead within the first five minutes of the game. The defensive pressure put on by the Hawks allowed Johnson State into making only eight field goals in the first half, holding them to 32% from the field.

Senior and All-Tournament Team selection, Eric Kippins paced the Hawks with 13 points and six rebounds, led the Hawks on the offensive end. Robert Borusiewicz had 14 points while Brian Kruger chipped in with 11 points.

Ron Adrian led the Badgers in scoring notching 19 points overall followed by teammate Asim Khan who tallied 11 points. 

The Hawks return to action Tuesday November 25 when they take on CUNYAC foe College of Staten Island. Game-time is scheduled for 7:30pm. Johnson State will break for the Thanksgiving holiday and return to action on December 3rd for its conference opener against Green Mountain College for a 7:30pm tip off.
