Pilgrims Best Badgers 103-73

Johnson State dropped their last home game of the season to North Atlantic Conference (NAC) foe New England College 103-73 Thursday evening in Carter Gymnasium. Johnson slides to 3-14 in the NAC (3-21 overall) while New England College improves to 10-7 in the NAC (13-11 overall).

The Badgers started out sluggish, allowing a 18-3 run in just over the first three minutes of the half. Ron Adrian would make a layup to get the badgers second bucket of the game, but the momentum did not shift as the Pilgrims would 31-11 run to make the 49-19 with 6:43 remaining. Adrian would hit a three for the Badgers, but the Pilgrims would close out the half on a 12-6 run to make it 62-28.

The start of the second half was much of the same for both teams. By the 9:40 mark, The Pilgrims found themselves with a comfortable 39 point lead. The Badgers put together a 15-5 run to cut the lead down to 27 with 2:48, but the Pilgrims offense was too much and they ran away with a 103-73 victory.

Adrian led the Badgers with 22 points and dishing out five assists. Asim Kahn had 14 points while Demetrius Slade recorded a double-double with 12 points and pulling down 11 rebounds. Miphael Dominique contributed 12 in the Badger loss.

The Pilgrims saw six players in double digits. Jonathan Byrnes led the teams scoring with 20 points, followed by Dondre James who tallied 18 points and grabbed six rebounds. Joel DeMadet had 17 points and seven rebounds. Both Cj Capilets and Dezron Wilson had 12 points. Robin Wilson contributed 10 points in the Pilgrim win.

The Pilgrims play host to Lyndon State on Saturday with a tip of 1:00pm in Bridges Gym. The Badgers hit the road to play their final game of the season on Saturday at Colby-Sawyer with a tip if 1:00pm.
