Panthers Roll By Badgers 95-48

The visiting Middlebury men's basketball team utilized a run  of 7-0  in the first half en route to a 95-48 victory at Carter Gymnasium against Johnson State. With the loss, the Badgers slide to 0-6 on the year while the Panthers advance to 3-5 overall. 

Matt St. Amour led all scorers posting 19 points and pulling down 

The Panthers, who never trailed in the game, quickly scored the game's first seven points. The Badgers cut the deficit to four via a lay-up from Benjamin Holl, but the hosts rattled off a 11-3 run to pull ahead by 13 points. The Badgers were unable to close the gap seeing the half end 45-21.

The Panthers saw nine different players score in the first half and shot 20-34 from the field for just over 58 percent, while Johnson State was 25% on 3-12 shooting from the field. 

Out of the half, Middlebury tallied 18 of the first 29 points of the stanza over the opening 7:20 minutes and didn't look back. Middlebury easily closed the second half 95-48. 

As a team, Middlebury knocked down 43-65 shots (66%) and dished out 20 assists. Defensively, the Panthers forced Johnson State into 14 turnovers.

The Badgers open their conference season against New England College on Saturday for a 3:00pm tip while the Panthers will travel to Skidmore College for a 4:00pm game.
