Eagles Earn 108-94 Win Over Badgers

Green Mountain overpowered Johnson State, 108-94 in a North Atlantic Conference (NAC) contest on Saturday afternoon at Carter Gymnasium.

The Badgers slide to 0-8 on the year and 0-3 in the NAC while the Eagles advance to 7-2 overall and 4-1 in the NAC.

Both Green Mountain and Johnson St. had five men score 10 or more points. Cameron Anderson led all scorers with 28 points. Mychal Parker had 25 and Jared Carithers scored 22. Javier Lugris and Thomas Brown scored 15 and 10 points respectively.

Benjamin Holl posted 23 points for the Badgers while Rahim Bunch added 21. Asim Khan contributed 17 points and grabbed four steals. Rasul Jackson and Jordan Singleton netted 15 and 10 points respectively.

Johnson opened up the scoring with an early lay-up from Bunch. The Badgers worked their way up to a 27-21 lead halfway through the first half, but saw the Eagles regroup and 6-0 run to tie things up 27-27. The Badgers took back the lead briefly until Green Mountain pulled away and ended the half ahead 53-37.

Green Mountain turned up the heat in the second half going ahead by as many as 18 points. The Badgers worked to close the gap, but were unable to overcome the Eagles, ending the game with a final score of 108-94.

Johnson will return to action with a road contest to Colby-Sawyer after the break.
