
JOHNSON, Vt. – The Johnson State College men's basketball team fell to Colby-Sawyer College 68-44 in a North Atlantic Conference (NAC) contest on Tuesday night.
The Badgers drop to 6-10 (3-7 NAC) on the season while the Chargers move to 11-5 (8-2 NAC).
1st HALF
The game began with the teams trading the first four baskets resulting in the only two ties of the contest. Colby-Sawyer slowly pulled away despite being outrebounded 23-19 in the half. Midway through the frame, an Erik Olson gave Colby-Sawyer its largest lead of the half at 19-9. Johnson used a 9-2 run capped by an Alexander Vetere (Craftsbury, Vt.) three to pull within three points with 7:02 left. The Chargers pushed their lead back to nine at the end of the half when Austin Boudreau nailed a three in the final seconds to give Colby-Sawyer a 33-24 lead at the break.
2nd HALF
The Chargers pushed their lead to double-digits early in the second and held the advantage through the remainder of the game, holding Johnson to 27.6% shooting in the second half to take the 68-44 win.
