Men's Basketball Drops Conference Game to Beavers

JOHNSON, Vt.-The Northern Vermont University-Johnson men's basketball team faced off against the University of Maine Farmington Beavers in a North Atlantic Conference contest on Saturday afternoon. The Badgers fell by a score of 95-60.

Two players scored in double digits for the Badgers in the loss on Saturday afternoon. The team was led by Ayodeji Shokeye who recorded 15 points, one board and one assist. Robert Dubose added ten points and four assists. The Beavers had four players score in double figures off a strong performance from Riley Robinson who scored a game high 22 points and connected on four shots from behind the arc. 

Farmington jumped out to a strong lead in the first half going on an initial 14-6 run. The Badgers made their way within five but back to back field goals from Robinson gave the Beavers the advantage and momentum. The Beavers closed the half on a 16-3 run.

Farmington continued to control the pace in the second half. Tyhee Taylor converted on back to back jumpers but the Beavers transition and size defensively limited the Badgers in the second half to just 33 points. 

With the loss the Badgers drop to 3-11 overall and 1-3 in NAC play. Men's Basketball is set to host Norwich University on Tuesday, January 14 at 6:00pm.
