Western New England Slips Past Johnson
Johnson State College dropped its consolation match  against Western New England 73-61 on day two of the SJU Tip- off tournament . With the loss, the Badgers slide to 0-2 on the season. Johnson State's Sarah Voorhis was named to the All-Tournament team.
For WNE, Dorothy O'Neil led five players in double figures with 17 points as Western New England (1-1) won the consolation game. Samantha McCann scored 15 points and Chelsea Vujs had 14 points and 1- rebounds for the Golden Bears.
Voorhis scored 19 to lead Johnson State, while Brittany Robertson scored 12 and Domonique Carter-Stanley had 11 for the Badgers. WNE held a slim 44-43 lead with just over 12 minutes to play, but O'Neil and Amanda Lopez had six points each in the closing stages and the Golden Bears shot 17-for-21 at the free throw line in the second half. 
Johnson State will host Nichols College in non-conference action on Saturday, Nov. 22nd for the team's home opener.
